Try This: Plan Your Meeting

Use the questions from the previous section, Make it Engaging, to put together a plan for an upcoming meeting.

Open a document in a separate tab or on your computer and copy/paste the questions below.

Spend ten minutes (or one to two minutes per question) answering each question.

  1. What is the purpose of this meeting?
  2. What type of meeting is this? Updates… discussion… brainstorm… something else?
  3. What will you say?
  4. What questions will you ask?
  5. What will participants leave with?
  6. How will you handle silence?

📅 Consider including the purpose and meeting type in your calendar invitation.

🧑🏻‍🤝‍🧑🏽 Consider whether you’ve invited the right people and/or whether it would be useful to connect with anyone before the meeting to help you achieve your desired goals.
