Every JEDI journey is unique because we have all traveled a different road to get here—we have had different experiences, live in different bodies, and learned different stories about who we are in relationship to the world around us.
The power of this journey begins with noticing and appreciating these differences—in ourselves and in others.
Justice examines the policies, procedures, practices, mores, and norms that influence the distribution of resources.
A JUST world has equitable and sustainable distribution of resources, and all members are physically and psychologically safe, secure, recognized, and treated with respect.
Justice examines the policies, procedures, practices, mores, and norms that influence the distribution of resources.
Diversity speaks to those aspects that are largely unchangeable and not contingent on behavior, but on sense of self.
Diversity is not just race, but the core of identities that have social capital: ability, age, class, gender, race, and other social identities represented in communities, institutions, cultures, and society.
Equity is the scale that examines how things operate and impact groups. Equity takes action to adjust to ensure mutual opportunity for all people.
Equity is the process that levels the playing field, bringing balance of opportunity where negative impact is not tied to identity.
Inclusion is like the platinum rule: “Do unto others as they would do for themselves.”
Inclusion is practices, policies, procedures, and actions that provide equal access to opportunities and resources to people who might otherwise be excluded or marginalized. Everyone is valued for their contributions.Your JEDI Journey Tools
We designed these JEDI Journey Tools with family, friends, colleagues, and YOU in mind. Our hope is for these tools to help you and those that you connect with, such as friends, family, and colleagues to start or continue your journey to a more just, equitable, diverse, and inclusive world.

JEDI Journey Cards
These cards invite you to reflect on your Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion journey. We hope the questions, quotes, and prompts will help you discover something new about yourself and inspire curiosity about people whose lives have been shaped by different circumstances so that we can build a world that is more just, equitable, diverse, and inclusive for us all.
